CONDOR Tool and Knife

CONDOR TOOL AND KNIFE

Today, there aren't many knife enthusiasts who don't know about CONDOR TOOL AND KNIFE. From the very beginning, they were immediately recognizable by their hand-finished appearance, which, with their old-world techniques, adds an aura further encapsulated by the use of traditional carbon steel blades, wooden handles, and leather sheaths.

CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE® traces its proud history back to 1787, when the GEBR WEYESBERG COMPANY was founded in Solingen, Germany. Over the years, the company went through changes, and one of its brands, IMACASA, was sold to American investors.

In 2004, IMACASA® developed its first high-quality line of tools and knives for the North American and European outdoor markets. Thus, CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE® was born. Today, CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE® produces high-quality machetes, knives, axes, shovels, swords, spears, and other accessories.

Their vision is to be the leading company in marketing and selling top-quality tools and knives in the sporting goods market. CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE® has a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001:2015, which ensures the quality of its products and processes. They live by the following organizational values: passion, authenticity, continuous improvement, customer focus, and social awareness.

CONDOR continuously collaborates with renowned specialists and outdoor enthusiasts to have a strong foundation for their designs.

Some of the well-known individuals who are CONDOR designers and stand behind their products:

JOE FLOWERS

Joe is an enthusiastic naturalist, hunter, fisherman, herpetologist, cameraman, beekeeper, knife thrower, guide, and frequently travels abroad in search of knowledge about knives and unique animals. You can always find a Condor® by his side when he is deep in the Amazon rainforest or high in the Utah desert.

MATT GRAHAM

He has experience living off the grid: one day, he went for a walk and ended up spending six months alone in the wilderness. He lives in a remote area of southern Utah, where he primarily sleeps in simple shelters. In 2015, Graham and Condor Tool & Knife teamed up to develop a special line of “Primitive Survival Tools,” combining Matt's extensive knowledge of indigenous skills and pioneering design with Condor’s old-world craftsmanship.

WALTER A. MATTHEWS

He is a survival techniques specialist who also served as an officer in the Chilean Navy for over 20 years. In 2005, he founded Chile’s first school for survival and primitive skills. As a S.E.R.E. Instructor, he also trained special forces operators in survival techniques. His tactical experience, self-reliance, primitive skills, and bushcraft techniques in various locations worldwide give him the ability to design different types of knives and outdoor tools.

TONY LENNARTZ

For decades, he has been an icon in the outdoor, survival, and bushcraft fields. His extensive experience comes from years of professional work as a soldier and policeman, as well as a lifelong passion for living in the wild. During many longer stays in Canada, a close connection developed with the culture of the indigenous Canadians, from whom he learned techniques and methods. The training courses held by Tony Lennartz on a large estate in Eifel have taught thousands of participants the basics of wilderness survival for many years. Like no one else, Tony Lennartz combines decades of wilderness experience and constantly develops his strategies and techniques. His knife and axe designs are the essence of his knowledge and a clear commitment to his philosophy of uncompromising functionality.

Materials used by CONDOR:

Blade materials: mostly old-fashioned carbon steels like 1075, 1095, but sometimes stainless steel like 420HC or 440C.

Handle materials range from classic hardwoods like hickory or walnut to more modern Micarta or nearly indestructible polypropylene.

CONDOR is well-known for its leather sheaths of exceptional quality. When they entered the market, everyone was surprised by how good they actually were. Good thick leather and quality stitching. Sometimes it seemed like the simple sheaths were worth more than the actual price of the knife with the sheath. This certainly increased the appeal of their products.

Almost anyone can find their sharp soulmate in the CONDOR selection. They make sharp tools inspired by various styles, such as:

Viking Age, like the CONDOR NORSE DRAGON SEAX

American Frontier Era, like the CONDOR HUDSON BAY KNIFE

Amazon Survival Tools, like the CONDOR DISCORD MACHETE

Asian machetes, like the CONDOR DUKU PARANG

Bushcraft, like the CONDOR BUSHLORE

Military, like the CONDOR CROTALUS

And many, many more! CONDOR has designs for everyone. So don’t wait, choose the ones that suit you best!
