The basis of a high-quality folding hunting knife or a fixed hunting knife is steel, it should be sufficiently resistant to dulling and chipping, while being easily sharpenable. Natural materials such as antler, bone or wood are used for the handle, exotic types of wood are often used, more modern materials such as various plastics, micarta, rubber coating. It is important that the handle is held well and securely, especially if the hand is dirty.
