Product Description
Benchmade 391SBK
Model SOCP 4.5 is a large folding knife with slim lines and is exceptionally lightweight. Just like the fixed-blade knives from which this model originated, it was also designed by Greg Thompson.
He designed this folding knife as an alternative to his fixed-blade versions. It has a sleek design and is ergonomically well thought out. By adding subtle finger grooves at strategic points, Thompson ensures that you can easily maneuver the knife in your hands.
The blade is made of D2 steel. It is a strong and hard steel that can handle a lot. However, caution is needed in salty environments as it is not stainless. It has a dark coating. The blade is partially serrated, which is useful for cutting ropes. It opens with a thumb stud located at the top edge of the blade, and can be opened with either the left or right hand. The open knife is secured by the Axis Lock mechanism.
The handle of the 391 model is made of CF-Elite, a dark material reinforced with carbon fiber. It is incredibly strong yet lightweight. At the end of the handle, there is a glass-breaking tip that can be used in emergency situations. The pocket clip is black, metal, and four-position, meaning you can move it to your preferred position on the handle. This allows you to keep your knife with you at all times. The handle also features a lanyard hole.
