Product Description
Field or short shovel in a historic style is by far the most versatile outdoor tool after a knife. It splits firewood, chops trees, clears pathways through vegetation, piles up the fireplace, serves as a mountaineering aid on steep slopes, makeshift lever, emergency paddle, and knife. The list could go on and on. We don't even need to mention that it's excellent for digging. Compared to folding shovels commonly used today, it is substantially more robust, which is necessary for the aforementioned uses.
The blade edges are pre-sharpened according to historical patterns and are not further sharpened upon delivery. Digging, chopping wood, and branch removal are possible in this state, but for better results, additional edge sharpening is recommended. In order to adapt BOKER to today's needs and possibilities, minimal modifications were made to the original design to create a modern bushcraft tool. Durable stainless steel was chosen for the blade, which is also used in the construction of steam turbine blades and surgical instruments. It has high resistance to breaking and impacts and is easily sharpened even in field conditions. The handle is made of resilient ash wood.
The sheath with two belt loops is made of black nylon, resistant to moisture and decay, with a sturdy plastic insert instead of leather, which would require care. Thanks to this, the Boker Plus Shovel M1874 is an indispensable part of equipment for all bushcrafters, off-road guides, military gear collectors, and reenactors.
