Product Description
Clubs of this type have been used for hundreds of years because they were easy to manufacture, relatively inexpensive, and highly effective especially against enemies in plate armor. The main goal of the flanges was to concentrate the force of the club's impact into one or two narrow ridges to better transmit force and crush meat, bones, and armor. A hard blow from the club could stop the heart of an armored opponent or crush parts of his body so that he was unable to move his hand or foot, knee, elbow. Clubs were worn by city guards, archers, infantrymen, professional mercenaries, and knights. The Cold Steel Six Flange Mace is a bit plebeian, but at a reasonable price, it is suitable for any fencing group or reenactors.
The head of the club is made of carbon steel. It is mounted on a short wooden handle and secured with a screw to prevent loosening.
