Over the years, we have prototyped a range of different shapes of machetes with a short blade, but the Tanto remains one of the best we have tested. Although the "Americanized Tanto" is known primarily for its combat use, it also makes an excellent multi-purpose blade for cutting shrubs. In our tests, the Tanto Machete cut and pierced exceptionally well, while remaining hard enough to withstand heavy use. Its solid full-tang construction and weather-resistant polypropylene handle only enhance its durability and functionality.
