The Fenix ARB-L16-800UP is a rechargeable Li-ion battery of the RCR123A (16340) size with a capacity of 800 mAh and a built-in USB-C charging port. It can be charged by connecting a cable to the USB-C port (e.g., from a computer or a mobile phone charger) as well as in traditional chargers and in charging flashlights and headlamps. It is designed for high discharge currents, making it especially suitable for devices with higher power consumption, such as the Fenix E16 and E18R flashlights. Li-ion technology provides one of the best ratios of stored energy to battery weight. The batteries do not suffer from memory effect and have minimal self-discharge.

Battery protection can be divided into two areas. First, added electronic circuits prevent overcharging (a situation where classic Li-ion batteries risk explosion) or excessive discharge (which would render the battery non-rechargeable). Additionally, these circuits protect against short circuits and high discharge currents that could damage the battery. If the battery electronics detect the limit values, it disconnects the cell. The second area of protection is against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion vent. Unlike other vents used in Li-ion batteries, this one separates the electrodes inside the battery when the gas pressure exceeds a certain threshold, thereby interrupting the exothermic reaction and releasing excess gas outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (thermal and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest available Li-ion batteries.

The RCR123 battery is similar in size to a single-use lithium CR123A battery, making it a common rechargeable alternative. Verify whether your device supports this battery, as it has a higher nominal voltage than a single-use battery. These batteries can be used in flashlights such as Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, PD25R, GL06, GL22, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, RC09, and PD22 Ultimate Edition.

Note: Do not use in Fenix E15 (except E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (except Ultimate Edition), and HL50 models, as it may damage the electronics!

The battery can be charged:

Via USB-C Port: Connect the USB cable to the side USB-C port; the indicator light on the top of the battery will be red during charging and blue when fully charged. A fully discharged battery charges in approximately 2 hours.
In a flashlight or headlamp: The battery can also be charged in charging flashlights and headlamps, making it a spare battery for headlamps HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0, and flashlights E18R, LD15R, GL06, GL22.
In a traditional Li-ion battery charger.
