Field Notes United States of Letterpress A: Full-Circle, Genghis Kern, Mama's Sauce (Graph PPR) fnc-

48th quarterly limited edition in the autumn of 2020 became "United States of Bookpress", which features the work of nine independent book printers from all over America. This series demonstrates a wide range of artisanal skill, ingenuity, and love for the timeless process of book printing.

With the help of friends from Finch Paper of Glens Falls, New York and The French Paper Company of Niles, Michigan, Field Notes sent a different color cover to each store (all from the French Pop-Tone range) and specified only two matching ink colors (Rubine Red and Process Blue) for all notebooks in this edition. The results are as diverse and thoughtful as the participating printers.

The layouts, themes, and references of each printshop, continuing the tradition of American book printing, are highly personal statements about heritage, geography, tradition, and social issues, and also demonstrate the diversity and power of contemporary book printing.

This project was created thanks to the craftsmanship and creativity of twelve printshops across the United States, with the help, skill, and know-how of countless other printers, collectors, and enthusiasts.

The pack includes one notebook designed by Full-Circle Press from Nevada City, California. One of two versions by Genghis Kern from Denver, Colorado. And one of two versions by Mama's Sauce from Orlando, Florida.

Field Notes notebooks are durable and flexible, designed to survive being carried in a pocket. They are bound by a robust saddle stitch process with three staples. You can write your contact information on the front cover and humorously state that the person who returns your lost book will be rewarded. The notebooks are made and printed in the USA.
