The blade of this Fox Virtus is crafted from Damasteel damascus. This material is truly exceptional. While many manufacturers produce quality damascus steel, the Swedish company Damasteel elevates it to a new level. They achieve this by using two powder steels to forge the damascus. Powder steels possess a very fine grain structure at the microscopic level, making them harder and allowing them to maintain their sharpness longer than traditional steel types.
The handle of this Fox Knives Virtus FX-541 DMG is constructed from carbon fiber and measures 10.1 cm in length. Carbon fiber is an incredibly robust material. For pocket knife handles, carbon fiber sheet material is utilized. The carbon fibers, often initially woven, are compressed into a strong resin under high pressure. The result is an exceptionally strong, lightweight material.
