The blade made of carbon steel has a traditional bo-hi ("hollow groove") on the surface, while the wooden handle is beautifully decorated and contains a tsuba (handguard), menuki (decorative elements below the handguard), and a dark brown tsuka-ito (cord around the handle). The scabbard of the sword is made of black and lacquered wood and includes a characteristic sageo cord for attaching to a belt. This decorative or collector's sword is not suitable for actual use!
