This gray sharpening stone is a natural stone La Pyrénées from the French Pyrenees. This stone contains small crystals of quartz, which ensure that the stone does what it's supposed to do: sharpen your knives. This stone has a grain size of approx. 1200, which makes it great for sharpening relatively dull knives.
How to use Opinel La Pyrénées?
Before using the stone, soak it in water for a few minutes. Make sure to keep the stone wet during sharpening. Hold your Opinel knife at an angle of about 20 degrees while sharpening. The length of time you will need to sharpen depends on the dullness of your knife. Usually, it will be enough to sharpen for 5 to 30 minutes. Don't forget to sharpen both sides of the knife until it's sharp again.
