M390 is a high-performance martensitic chrome steel produced through powder metallurgy. Its alloy composition provides exceptional wear and corrosion resistance, maintaining a sharp edge with minimal upkeep. It resists "wire" formation during sharpening and contains 20.0% chromium, 1.9% carbon, and 4.0% vanadium, with a hardness of 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels and is manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria. The Button Liner Lock is a clever mechanism where a button in the pivot moves the Liner Lock leaf, allowing the knife to be folded without fingers entering the blade's path. The blade is a Reverse Tanto type, hand-ground to achieve a pearlescent finish. It has a long cutting edge with a pronounced belly, tapering to a needle-sharp tip. The blade's thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind offers excellent cutting capabilities. Ceramic ball bearings facilitate smooth blade operation. The knife can be quickly opened with the front flipper, the Thumb Hole, or by gravity by releasing the pivot button. The upper jimping wedge features a notched thumb rest, and the entire assembly is secured with the intuitive Button Liner Lock. The handle is made from thick sandblasted titanium 6AL4V, precisely milled using CNC machinery. The titanium backspacer, to which the grips are attached, ensures the structure's rigidity and strength. The simple yet solid construction promises years of reliable use. A single-position titanium clip allows for tip-up carry. The pivot axis with the Button Liner Lock button is adorned with titanium overlays in a Lightning Storm pattern. The backspacer's protruding section includes a spot for threading a safety or decorative cord.
