M390 is a high-performance martensitic chrome steel produced through powder metallurgy. Its alloy composition provides extremely high wear and corrosion resistance, maintaining a sharp edge for a long time with minimal maintenance. It also resists forming a "wire" edge during sharpening. The steel contains 20.0% chromium, 1.9% carbon, 4.0% vanadium, and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels and is manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria. The blade is a drop point type, finished by hand using the Manual Fine Grinding Pearlescent Surface Effect method. It features a long cutting edge with a prominent belly, tapering to a needle-sharp tip. The blade's thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind offers excellent cutting properties. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth blade operation. The knife can be quickly opened with a discreet flipper or using a milled pin on both sides (Thumb Stud). The upper jimping wedge includes a notched thumb rest, and the blade is secured with a reliable liner lock. The handle features a 6AL4V titanium exoskeleton with a monolithic housing beautifully milled from a single piece of titanium using CNC machine tools. This innovative design provides exceptional robustness and resistance. The entire piece undergoes a manual Ceramic Sandblasting process. A locking slide at the back allows for the removal of the outer casing for cleaning. A single-position titanium deep-carry clip (right) enables discreet pocket carry in a tip-up position. The knife comes with a zippered soft nylon case bearing the manufacturer's name for safe storage and transport.
