M390 is a high-performance martensitic chrome steel made through powder metallurgy. Its alloy composition provides exceptional wear and corrosion resistance, maintaining a sharp edge with minimal upkeep. It resists "wire" formation during sharpening. The steel contains 20.0% chromium, 1.9% carbon, 4.0% vanadium, and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels and is produced by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria. DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) enhances the blade's surface durability with a matte black nanocomposite coating, offering unique properties like exceptional hardness, low friction, and excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most scratch and abrasion-resistant coatings used in the knife industry. The blade is a drop point type, hand-finished with the Manual Fine Grinding Pearlescent Surface Effect method and coated with black DLC. It features a long cutting edge with a prominent belly, tapering to a needle-sharp tip. The blade's thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind provides excellent cutting capabilities. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth blade operation. The knife can be quickly opened with a discreet flipper or using a milled pin on both sides (Thumb Stud). The upper jimping wedge includes a notched thumb rest, and the knife is secured with a reliable liner lock. The handle features a 6AL4V titanium exoskeleton with a monolithic housing beautifully CNC-milled from a single titanium piece, offering exceptional durability and resistance. The entire handle is coated with DLC. A locking slide at the back allows for the removal of the outer casing for cleaning. A single-position titanium deep-carry clip (right) enables discreet pocket carry in a tip-up position. The knife comes with a zippered soft nylon case bearing the manufacturer's name for safe storage and transport.
