The RT-WK1 Black/Gold Titanium is a standout EDC folding knife that merges engineering excellence with a distinctive design. It features a drop point blade crafted from Böhler M390 steel, renowned for its superior quality in knife making. M390 is a high-performance martensitic chrome steel produced through powder metallurgy, known for its exceptional wear and corrosion resistance. Its high wear resistance keeps the blade sharp for extended periods with minimal upkeep. The steel resists "wire" formation during sharpening and contains 20.0% chromium, 1.9% carbon, and 4.0% vanadium, with a hardness of 59-61 HRC. Comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels, it is manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Austria. The DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating enhances the blade's surface durability with a matte black nanocomposite layer, offering exceptional hardness, low friction, and excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most scratch and abrasion-resistant coatings used in the knife industry. The blade is a drop point type, finished by hand with a Manual Fine Grinding Pearlescent Surface Effect and coated with black DLC. It features a long cutting edge with a prominent belly, converging to a needle-sharp tip. The blade's thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind provides excellent cutting capabilities. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth blade operation. The knife can be opened quickly with a discreet flipper or using a milled pin on both sides (Thumb Stud). The upper jimping wedge includes a notched thumb rest, and the knife is secured with a liner lock. The handle consists of a 6AL4V titanium exoskeleton with a monolithic housing beautifully milled from a single titanium piece using CNC tools. This innovative design offers exceptional robustness and resistance, with a DLC coating. A locking slide allows for the removal of the outer casing for cleaning. A single-position titanium deep-carry clip enables discreet pocket carry in a tip-up position. The knife comes with a zippered soft nylon case featuring the manufacturer's name for safe storage and transport.
