Spyderco Gauntlet is a simple set for sharpening your knives. The blade can be sharpened within a few minutes without the use of oil, water, complicated holders, or electricity. The sharpener consists of a durable plastic stand with a hand guard and two holes for sharpening rods, which together form an angle of 40° (20° each). The holes have a star shape, so it is possible to rotate the rods to a new sharpening side for the blade, or use the edge to sharpen a serrated blade.

The set includes a stand and a pair of ceramic sharpening rods, which can also be purchased separately. The Gauntlet Premium set (603FCBN) also includes a pair of rods for sharpening dull blades made of a diamond-like material - CBN (a mixture of nitride and boron in crystalline form).
