Spyderco 308F Golden Stone

A sharpening tool from Spyderco with all the curves and angles for sharpening any cutting edge. The ceramic tool is made of Alumina Ceramic, a process that combines bonding with particles of alumina (which are actually synthetic sapphires with a size of 15 to 25 microns).

It is fired in a kiln at temperatures above 1649 °C, reaching a hardness of 9 (out of 10) on the Mohs scale, and gradually cooled. Ceramic sharpening tools are used dry, without oil or water. The fine Golden Stone sand is excellent for polishing and professionally finishing any edge. By holding the stone vertically on the board and tilting it from one side to the other, a knife blade angle of 20° is created (total angle of 40°). Both sides are elliptical for sharpening Plain Edges and Spyder Edges. When placed horizontally on its side, it creates a scissors angle of 12.5°. The leather suede case can also be used as a non-slip pad when sharpening.
