Spyderco - Para 3 is the latest generation of the well-known Paramilitary folding knife family. Its history dates back to 2004, when the first series of Paramilitary knives was created. Based on this, Para 3 faithfully retains all the characteristic features of its predecessor, the best-selling Paramilitary 2, but in a smaller, more uniform package. Although Para 3 is clearly based on Paramilitary 2, it was not named "Paramilitary 3" because the number "3" actually reflects the length of the blade at three inches rather than being the third generation of the paramilitary design. This knife has its own "identity" as a standalone product from Spyderco. It is made with various steels as well as a variety of handle color variations.
The blade is made of CPM-S45VN steel with a matte black finish. It is full flat ground, giving it exceptional cutting properties. The open blade is secured by a solid compression lock, located on the back of the handle, allowing for convenient one-handed opening and closing. The handle features an American digital camouflage pattern, made of G-10 material, and for increased strength and durability, it is reinforced with stainless steel liners. The pocket clip is four-position, meaning it can be repositioned as needed. A large lanyard hole is present on the handle for additional versatility.
