Shawn Owens cannot rely solely on his significant martial arts experience. His design for the Micro Hawk is primarily inspired by his pilot activity. Low weight and compact dimensions are of course essential for onboard equipment. The extremely compact size of the Micro Hawk makes it easy to store in minimal space and comfortable to carry, while the sturdy 8.3mm steel provides enough effective handling and impact force despite the small shape factor of the Micro Hawk.

The use of carbon steel 1095 is naturally also responsible for exceptional strength and reliability. The fully circumferential edge on the axe allows the Micro Hawk to be used as an excellent knife, scraper, etc. Its premium Kydex sheath with a rotating clip supports comfortable carrying on a belt or gear.
