Product Description
Böker introduces its inaugural military-historical artillery project with the Eight-Eight (8-8) Flak Damascus collector's dagger. The 8.8 cm Flak, an abbreviation for anti-aircraft gun, is regarded by many experts as the finest and most versatile artillery piece of World War II. Initially designed for anti-aircraft defense, the Eight-Eight (8-8) gained its legendary status primarily through its effectiveness in ground combat.
The 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun also contributed significantly to the renowned reputation of another World War II weapon, which Böker has previously incorporated into a Damascus collector's knife. As the primary armament, it was mounted in the turret of the VI tank, more commonly known as the Tiger. Its effectiveness in this role led to its subsequent use in the Nashorn (Rhino) tank destroyer.
This fully-fledged dagger features a medieval aesthetic, with its centerpiece being the slender yet robust 18.1 cm blade, forged from components of the 8.8 cm Flak.
The handle scroll is crafted from a piece of domestically stabilized hornbeam, featuring 16 jimpings. A stainless steel guard, inspired by the design of the 8.8 cm Flak artillery crossguard, provides protection.
The dagger comes with a dark brown leather sheath, equipped with a belt loop and localized reinforcement. It is delivered in an elegant storage box, complete with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number.
