The ESEE Model 4 is one of the most popular survival knives. This ESEE 4P model is a modified version of the classic. The handle is made of gray micarta material. The material is slightly rough for better grip even when wet. It has a thumb guard for increased safety during cutting and handling the knife in the wilderness, at the cabin, or while hunting. The tang at the end of the handle is rounded and has a hole for a lanyard.

The blade of the 4P model is made of 1095 carbon steel. The steel is not stainless. Fortunately, the blade is protected by an extremely durable black powder coating. With proper use and care, it will last you a lifetime. The ESEE 4P is a sufficient size but still not bulky. The sheath is made of Zytel material and can be attached to a belt with a metal clip as needed. The packaging also includes a carry strap to which the Zytel sheath can be attached, making it compatible with the Molle system.
