The ESEE Xancudo is a sturdy knife based on the design of the famous ESEE Zancudo knife. ESEE took the profile of this folding knife and turned it into a one-to-one fixed blade knife. In terms of steel, ESEE chose CPM S35V steel. This steel retains its sharpness much longer than the "traditional" ESEE 1095 carbon steel. Therefore, you don't have to sharpen it as often. S35VN is also stainless, which means it does not require much maintenance. This knife is great for use in snow, marine environments, or other conditions where knife maintenance is not feasible. Are these just advantages? Unfortunately, it is a "compromise," like any type of steel. S35VN is relatively hard for a stainless steel type, but compared to 1095 carbon steel, it is not as strong and flexible. This knife is designed for cutting tasks, not for batoning. For this purpose, you should always take an axe.
The handle is made of G10 material. It is nicely layered in bright orange and black colors. The grooves on the handle provide a secure grip of the knife. The ergonomics of the popular ESEE Zancudo model are reflected here in the form of a large finger groove at the front of the handle.
This version of the ESEE Xancudo knife is exceptional thanks to the royal hole in the handle. Thanks to this hole, the weight is even lower. ESEE trainers, for example, hang their Xancudo on climbing gear using a carabiner during search and rescue operations and canyoning.
The ESEE Xancudo comes with a sturdy Zytel sheath. It is equipped with mounting eyelets for paracord or a clip (not included in the packaging).
