Product Description
Bokken, commonly referred to as Bokuto in Japan, is a wooden sword primarily used in Japanese martial arts such as Laido, Aikido, Kenjutsu, or Kendo. The wooden variant is a much safer way to practice various forms of martial arts instead of using sharp swords like Katana or Wakizashi. Due to its dimensions and weight, Bokken is used for all kinds of exercises from sparring to practicing movements (kata). The Medium Magnum Bokken made of untreated white oak is equivalent in size to a short Wakizashi sword and is known for its high durability. Treating the wood with oil (e.g. Boker camellia oil) provides additional protection against dirt and moisture and increases grip in sweaty hands compared to lacquered wood.
