Product Description
A few years ago, Ed Calderon was able to organize one of his most famous training courses at TOPS Knives and found time to host on TOPS Daily Grind. During his time in Idaho Falls, there was a lot of talk about sharp tools and weapons. Ed, along with Leo (TOPS president), agreed that a knife designed by Ed and manufactured by TOPS would be impressive. This was the basis for a design that transformed into the El Pionero knife. It is a simple design based on probably the most common type of knife in the world - a versatile kitchen knife for slicing.
El Pionero has many other features that Ed found useful on knives during his experiences. A small groove on the handle is his signature and is designed to help you orient the blade, but also helps in pulling out a knife that has been stabbed into something and may be a bit stuck. The false edge creates an even sharper point and helps penetrate materials better.
The full tang blade is made of 1095 high carbon steel. The handle is made of durable micarta material.
The Kydex sheath has a low profile and the end user can easily customize it for carrying in multiple configurations.
