Product Description
The TOPS Knives Storm Vector SVEC-01 is a large machete, crafted in the style of the renowned Seax knives. This type of knife was originally used by the Vikings over a thousand years ago. TOPS has developed a contemporary version, which is notably large. Therefore, this robust outdoor knife can be utilized as a survival knife as well as a machete.
The blade is constructed from 1095 carbon steel and features the distinctive differential hardening. This process ensures that the edge is exceptionally hard, maintaining its sharpness effectively. Meanwhile, the spine of the blade is softer, enhancing the knife's durability and resilience. Consequently, it is well-equipped to handle demanding tasks. It is important to note that 1095 is not stainless steel. It will develop a patina over time, and if stored while wet, it may rust. Fortunately, TOPS has applied the Acid Rain finish to the blade, initiating the formation of a beautiful patina.
The handle is crafted from micarta and complemented with a blue G10 liner, adding a playful element. Micarta provides a comfortable grip, even in wet conditions, ensuring you maintain control. You can carry the TOPS Storm Vector in the included sturdy kydex sheath, which features a unique 'dangler'. This allows it to pivot in relation to your belt or backpack, ensuring it never obstructs your movement.
