Product Description
Bokken, commonly referred to as Bokuto in Japan, is a wooden sword primarily used in Japanese martial arts such as Laido, Aikido, Kenjutsu, or Kendo. The wooden variant is a much safer way to train various forms of martial arts instead of using sharp swords like Katana or Wakizashi. Due to its size and weight, Bokken is used for all kinds of exercises, from sparring to practicing movements (kata). The Large Magnum Bokken made of unfinished white oak corresponds in dimensions to the Katana sword and is characterized by high durability. Treating the wood with oil (e.g. Boker camellia oil) provides additional protection against dirt and moisture and increases grip in sweaty hands compared to lacquered wood.
