Swordfish Black DLC Titanium / Red Blue Carbon Fiber is a sleek, folding knife from the innovative Remette Knives brand, showcasing advanced design engineering. The Gravity OTF (Out The Front) Blade deploys from the front using gravity. Inspired by the Luftwaffe gravity air knife, known as the German paratroopers' knife, it allows for easy one-handed blade extension and retraction. Crafted with premium materials like Böhler M390 blade steel and a titanium handle, it exemplifies the superior quality of Remette!
M390 - This is a high-performance martensitic chrome steel made through powder metallurgy. Its alloy composition provides exceptional wear and corrosion resistance. The blade maintains its sharpness for extended periods due to its high wear resistance, requiring minimal upkeep. It also resists forming a "wire" edge during sharpening. With a chromium content of 20.0% and carbon at 1.9%, along with 4.0% vanadium, it is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels and is produced by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating enhances the blade's surface durability with a matte black nanocomposite layer, offering unique properties like exceptional hardness, low friction, and excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most scratch and abrasion-resistant coatings used in various industries, including knives.
Blade - The blade is machine-ground in a Clip Point style with a single sharpened edge. It is hand-finished using the Manual Fine Grinding Pearlescent Surface Effect method and coated with black DLC. The blade's spine extends along the cutting edge, tapering to a needle-sharp tip. Its thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind provides excellent cutting geometry and performance. The blade can be repositioned for left-handed users by unscrewing a few screws and rotating it 180 degrees in the guide. It locks mechanically by snapping the grips on the top and bottom of the blade.
Handle - Made from CNC-milled titanium with a three-dimensional texture, also coated with black DLC. The chamfered edges eliminate sharpness, and the red-blue Carbon Fiber inlay adds an exclusive touch and enhances grip security. On the right side, there is an artful slide for blade deployment and retraction. A single-position titanium deep-carry clip allows discreet pocket carry in a tip-down position.
