Product Description
According to most historians, the rapier first appeared on the scene with a sword in the late 14th century and reigned in most of Europe until the end of the 16th century. The reason for its long-lasting dominance as both a civilian weapon and a self-defense and dueling weapon may be associated with its two main advantages.
Firstly, its long, slender blade was ideal for stabbing and slashing. And secondly, its constantly evolving handle made of rings, rods, guards, shells, and eventually intricately carved basket offered excellent protection and deflected hostile attacks.
The rapier's blade is made of carbon steel 1055. The handle is made of wood, which is covered with ray skin and wrapped with wire. It is complemented by a ribbed guard, shield, and joint protection. At the end of the handle, there is a typical stainless steel pommel.
The rapier is supplied with a leather sheath with forging.
