Product Description

Medieval soldier was a brave and reliable warrior with tremendous ability to wield various weapons. This unwavering veteran of many conflicts was often the first to enter the battle. Although he was not a knight, he fought and trained with them as one of their own in order to be equal to them in battle. Cold Steel honored these warriors by creating a replica inspired by the favorite weapon of medieval soldiers. LaFontaine Sword of War, designed by the renowned fencer Luke LaFontaine and named after him, combines elements of large two-handed swords from the 16th century with richly shaped guard.

The blade is made of high-quality carbon steel 1055 with a black surface finish. The steel guard and pommel balance the blade. The smooth handle is made of durable black leather.

The sword comes with a hand-stitched black leather scabbard with fittings at both ends.

I don't have experience with swords but I like this one. Size wise this sword sit's between CS Italian long sword and CS great sword. Craftsmanship is just fine but the grind of cutting edge is not done evenly on the entire blade length. The sword came very well packaged, and delivery time was very fast. The blade came pretty sharp for a sword but not as sharp as a knife, and this is a good thing in my opinion because such war sword don't need razor sharp edge. I recommend it, it's quite a beautiful piece of weapon.
