Product Description
The ESEE Cleaver CL1 is a large chopper, inspired by a butcher's cleaver. It is big, heavy, and very attractive. Anyone holding the Cleaver in their hand immediately smiles. This model was designed by Expat, a member of the ESEE forum. It was designed as a heavy-duty work tool. Perfect for dressing a deer, chopping into pieces, and cutting wood for a fire to roast the deer on. On the front side of the blade, you will find a cutout in the shape of the state of Idaho, USA. This cleaver originates from there.
The blade is made of 1095 carbon steel. It is as solid as a rock and durable. Ideal for tougher tasks and easy to sharpen afterwards. With a blade thickness of 4.7 mm and a relatively large appearance, the Cleaver is not a light knife: it weighs less than 740 grams.
The blade is enhanced with a flat grind in the (approximately) lower 1/3 of the blade. The edge is rounded towards the front. Ideal for chopping. You can also use this knife for dressing game. It may be a bit too big, but as a versatile outdoor tool, this knife can do it all. ESEE has improved the blade with a thick black coating.
The handle is made of black G10 material. Due to its royal size, there are many ways to grip the handle. For more demanding chopping tasks halfway up the blade, it's like holding a santoku on the backside.
The ESEE CL1 cleaver comes with a robust black leather sheath. Made in the United States.
